Arrival at SJO — your guide meets you at arrivals. Check in to Hotel Grano de Oro, a restored Victorian mansion in San José. Welcome briefing over cocktails.
Private van to La Pavona dock, then private boat deep into Tortuguero National Park. Check in to Pachira Lodge. Afternoon guided canal wildlife tour: caimans, river otters, monkeys and Great Green Macaws.
Dawn canal boat tour — look for manatees, river turtles, sloths and 300+ bird species. Afternoon at leisure on the lodge decks. Full board throughout.
Boat out to La Pavona, private van →︎ Arenal (La Fortuna). Check in to Arenal Springs Hotel & Gardens — rooms overlook the volcano.
Morning: Arenal Volcano Lava Trail hike through the dramatic 1968 lava fields. Evening: thermal pools with the volcano glowing at dusk.
